Pressure Points: Where Are the Top 5 Vulnerable Body Points To Hit An Attacker

One of the things that is often taught in self defense classes is how to hit an attacker at the vulnerable pressure points. This is a dangerous action, and should only be used in situations where you feel like your life is in danger and you have no other chance of getting away. When you make an attempt at hitting your attacker in the vulnerable pressure points, you will most likely have only one chance to get it right. If you do not disable them with the first attempt at hitting the pressure points, they will probably become even more enraged and you will be in more serious danger. Here is a list of the top five vulnerable body points to hit an attacker:

  1. Eyes: Poking someone sharply in the eye with a finger or other object can cause temporary or permanent blindness. It is also incredibly painful and will disable your attacker, hopefully long enough for you to get away.

  2. Groin: This is probably the single most painful place for either a man or woman to be hit. A very hard knee to the groin area will damage, and possibly rupture a man’s testicles, and cause serious pain to a woman as well. However, this movement must be done properly, because the glancing blow that gets deflected is barely effective. Getting the right spot will cause your attacker to drop nearly immediately to his or her knees and be unable to continue attacking you, allowing you to get away.

  3. Adam’s Apple: A punch to this area of the neck can be extremely painful and disabling. It can also cause the airway to collapse. This move can actually be lethal if done in certain ways. This is definitely a move that should only be used when you feel like your life is definitely in danger.

  4. Knee caps: A swift kick to the front of the knee can break the knee cap or dislocate the knee, causing the attacker to become temporarily disabled and certainly unable to chase you down, allowing you to get away.

  5. Temples: A strong punch to the temple will be disabling to the attacker. Even better is using a club or bat, if that is available. This is another move that is potentially deadly.

Punching someone in the stomach or face is often ineffective, unless you are very big and strong. Slapping will only irritate your attacker, and possibly make them even more aggressive toward you. If you are a woman being attacked by a man, you need to use the pressure points mentioned above to your advantage. It may be the only chance you have of surviving a physical attack or getting away. When you are fighting for your life, there are no holds barred and you must do anything you can to protect yourself, including making an attempt at hitting a pressure point, even though the results may be permanently disabling or deadly to the attacker. If you are acting in self defense, your rights should be protected. The key is to get it right the first time, you will probably only have one shot. Taking a self defense class where you can learn more about using pressure points for self defense and even have opportunities for role playing is a smart way to protect yourself.
